We heartily welcome all of you for this trial workshop on ‘International Folklore’.

In this course of International folk dance we will teach dances from a great variety of places, from Serbia to Turkey, Bulgaria and the U.S. Different countries use different ways of dancing, so you'll be taught in big circles, long rows or in couples. During the classes students will also learn a little bit of background information about the dances they're being taught as well as explanations of rhythm and irregular measures which are common especially in dances from the Balkan.

About Simone:
Simone Kuipers is a young and talented dancer from Netherlands. She graduated from the MBO Dance Haarlem academy as a dance teacher specialized in teaching children and international folk dance. She learned folklore, ballet, modern jazz, limon, modern, flamenco, urban and musical dances. Besides that she has danced in a number of international folk dance ensembles and traveled to different countries to study their folk dance. She is currently studying at Slovak folk dance at VŠMU, the performing arts academy in Bratislava.
