Sensorium Festival 2020 X SNG

Zažite mini konferenciu o umení, dizajne, vede a technológiách! V partnerstve so Slovenskou národnou galériou prináša festival Sensorium mini konferenciu, na ktorej spolu otvoríme tému Novej senzibility – nového zmyslu post-digitálnej doby. Večer otvorí vedúca kurátorka zbierok moderného a súčasného umenia SNG Lucia Gregorová Stach uvedením do témy v kontexte vizuálneho umenia. Hlavnou hostkou mini konferencie bude Freya Murray, vedúca kreatívy v Google Arts & Culture, a osobne privítame aj digitálneho dizajnéra, stratéga a žurnalistu Lukáša Pilku. Špeciálnou hostkou večera bude Evelyn Benčičová, ktorá počas slávnostného otvorenia inštalácie Artificial Tears v átriu SNG predstaví aj širší kontext svojej aktuálnej novomediálnej tvorby.

Téma Nová senzibilita‎ otvára práve tieto otázky, ako aj ďalšie konkrétne výzvy, ktorým v digitálnej ére čelíme. Sensorium prinesie viac ako 20 domácich aj zahraničných hostí, ktorí sa podieľali na projektoch pre NASA, MoMA New York či Google Arts & Culture, a boli ocenené v rámci festivalov ako Ars Electronica alebo Burning Man.

? Freya Murray – vedúca kreatívy v Google Arts & Culture Lab, ktorý spája technologické a kreatívne komunity prostredníctvom umenia a kultúry. Freya pôsobila aj ako umelecká manažérka v Sky Arts a založila Sky Academy Arts Scholarships na podporu začínajúcich umelcov vo veku od 18 do 30 rokov. https://sensorium.is/sk/speakers/freya-murray

? Lukáš Pilka – digitálny dizajnér, stratég a novinár zaoberajúci sa komunikácou dizajnu, súčasných technológií, nových médií a ich spájaním so svetom umenia. Počas doktorandského štúdia skúmal využívanie neurálnych prepojení na interpretáciu klasických umeleckých diel. Je spoluzakladateľom digitálnej agentúry BlueGhost a členom skupiny AltTab, ktorá mapuje prepojenie dizajnu, etiky a technológií. Lukáš odhalí, čo sa ukrýva za veľkými kultúrnymi datami a ako môžu strojové zobrazovacie algoritmy rozšíriť perspektívu výtvarného umenia.

Lucia Gregorová Stach – od roku 2010 pracuje v Slovenskej národnej galérii ako kurátorka Zbierky modernej a súčasnej grafiky a kresby a kurátorka výstav, od roku 2013 ako vedúca kurátorka Zbierok moderného a súčasného umenia. Je autorkou a spoluautorkou viacerých monografií a zborníkov, pravidelne publikuje v odborných časopisoch a zúčastňuje sa na odborných podujatiach, sympóziách a konferenciách doma aj v zahraničí.

Evelyn Benčičová – vo svojej vizuálnej tvorbe sa špecializuje na fotografiu a umeleckú réžiu, pričom v nej využíva (nielen) poznatky a skúsenosti zo štúdií výtvarného umenia a nových médií na University of Applied Arts vo Viedni. V jednotlivých dielach kombinuje svoj záujem o súčasnú kultúru s akademickým výskumom.

SENSORIUM FESTIVAL 2020 – NOMADIC HYBRID EDITION

Medzinárodný festival digitálneho umenia a kultúry sa vráti v nomádskej edícii 19. 8. – 7. 9. 2020. Naživo aj online spoznáte viac ako 20 domácich a zahraničných hostí. Sú známi aj z projektov pre NASA, MoMA New York či Google Arts & Culture, a mnohí boli ocenení festivalom Ars Electronica. Program sme rozšírili na niekoľko dní a do piatich miest na Slovensku. Zúčastniť sa môžete mini konferencií, koncertov v centre Bratislavy aj workshopu venovanému téme etického dizajnu. Program zmaže hranice medzi umením, technológiami a vedou, a ponúkne nové zážitky vo verejnom, fyzickom aj digitálnom priestore.

Experience hybrid mini conference on art, design, science and technology! In partnership with the Slovak National Gallery, Sensorium Festival brings mini conference where it will open up the theme of New Sensibility – new sense of the post-digital age. The evening will be opened by introducing New Sensibility in the context of visual arts by Lucia Gregorová Stach, Head Curator of Modern And Contemporary Art at SNG. Main guest of the conference will be Freya Murray, creative Lead for the Google Arts & Culture, and we will meet in person digital designer, strategist and journalist Lukáš Pilka. A special guest of the evening will be Evelyn Benčičová, who will introduce an installation Artificial Tears in the atrium of SNG, as well as broader context of her current new-media production.

Can we redefine our relationship with technology and our environment? How to be more confident in our daily coexistence with technology?

The theme "New Sensibility" opens up these questions as well as other concrete challenges that we face daily in the digital era. Sensorium festival brings more than 20 renowned local and international artists & speakers who are behind projects with NASA, MoMA NY, Google Arts & Culture and were awarded by festivals such as Ars Electronica and Burning Man.

? Freya Murray – creative Lead for the Google Arts & Culture Lab, where tech and creative communities come together through the arts and culture. Freya was an Arts Manager at Sky Arts and set up the Sky Academy Arts Scholarships to support emerging artists aged 18-30.

? Lukáš Pilka – digital designer, strategist, and journalist dealing with interaction and communication design, contemporary technologies, new media and the overlap of all into the world of fine art. He studied using neural networks for the quantitative interpretation of classical works of art. He is a co-founder of BlueGhost digital agency and a member of AltTab group which maps the intersections of design, ethics, and technology. Lukáš will reveal what is big cultural data and how machine vision algorithms can open a new perspective on fine arts.

Lucia Gregorová Stach – she has been working as a curator of Collections of modern and contemporary graphics and drawings for the Slovak National Gallery since 2010, she is the main curator of Collections of modern and contemporary arts since 2013. She is an author and co-author of many monographs and collections, she periodically publishes in professional magazines, as well as participates in specialized events, symposiums and conferences locally and internationally.

? Evelyn Benčičová – she specializes in photography and art direction while using knowledge and experience (not only) from new media studies at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. Evelyn’s work combines her interest in contemporary culture with academic research.

SENSORIUM FESTIVAL 2020 – NOMADIC HYBRID EDITION

The International Festival of Digital Art and Culture will return in the nomadic edition on 19 August – 7 September 2020. You will meet more than 20 domestic and foreign guests live and online. They are also known from projects for NASA, MoMA New York and Google Arts & Culture, and many have been awarded by the Ars Electronica festival. The program has expanded to several days and to five places in Slovakia. You can take part in mini conferences, concerts in the center of Bratislava and workshop dedicated to design ethics. The program will blur the boundaries between art, technology and science, and offer new experiences in public, physical and digital space.
